New Year, New Resolution

I guess I should start out with an introduction of sorts. My name is Valerie and this is my first blog. I will be graduating this May from West Virginia University (WVU) with a degree in Strategic Communications holding an emphasis in Advertising. I decided to go instate for college and grew up in the small town of Masontown, better know for being in Preston County. I hold a true love for the outdoors which I give thanks to my father and have always enjoyed campaign and hiking. Just this year, well 2014, I began to practice rock climbing which is something I really enjoy and find myself upset when I begin to let it become lost in the hustle of being "too busy." One last fun fact before I jump into why I have decided to start a blog is that I consider myself to be a practicing artist. I began my adventure at WVU as an art history student but shortly into my sophomore year I realized that I enjoyed creating when I was outside of the classroom and decided to change my major to a different spectrum of the creative world, which led me to my passion of advertising. So now onto my new blog. You know, I always talked about starting a blog, especially during my time in college but as most everyone knows "talking" about starting something is way different than actually starting something. Now that I am in my senior year and will be graduating in May I have decided to make creating a personal blog my New Year's Resolution. This is in hopes that I will push myself to improve my writing skills and gain a new outlet of written meditation.
